About Us

Living in sin for me was exhausting, lifeless, non-caring and filled with anger. Living for the devil was taking me down the ol' bumpy roads. I was thinking everyone owes me, or I will get them back by getting even. Negative thoughts, negative thinking, although don't we all sin?

Now I think about wrong and how to fix it. How can I strive to please my father. Not the earthly one who was never there for me, but the one who is my father, creator and savior, our Lord God and Jesus Christ. I went through a lot of backslides not knowing which way to turn. I needed guidance. Someone to show me how to change my way of living. I was a mess.

I had been up for three days when I was asked by a friend to go to a bible study. I laughed and thought to myself, that is the last thing I need. That's listening to the Devil. But that particular day when I saw Ben East again, I said, what can I do? I am at my wits end. I just want to die. He said, "You really want to know?". I replied yes. He touched my shoulder and I felt the holy spirit. I have tried every drug known toman, and I have never felt anything better, no high has ever taken the weight off of my shoulders and off of me like that did. All the guilt, all the anger, all of my bad choices, suddenly gone and forgiven. It was the best feeling in my life. I was later saved and baptized and never went back to that ol' bumpy road. Now I ride the smooth ones living and riding for God.

I have also been blessed with a wife who came up those same ol' bumpy roads and we love life and leave the Devil's drama behind. We are in the 8th Day Riders, built on thirteen original members who are filled with love, who ride with hearts open and wanting to give all in the same breath. I am the Chaplain. I have never been so happy in my life. We are co-ed charity riders who strive on being safe, courteous riders with a cause to help others in need, the way I once was. So if you are on the ol' bumpy road you know what to do. And I would like to share my favorite bible verse that always makes me smile.

"I will bring the blind by the way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them and crooked places straight. These things I will do for them and not forsake them. - Isaiah 42:16
